This year I will be starting a double degree:
Bachelor of Design in Fashion textiles Bachelor of Arts in International Studies

After accepting the fact I would never get the marks to make it into the degree, when I did, I was absolutely stoked on life. I think success depends on how hard you try, it's not a measure of intelligence, simply determination and an unwillingness to fail. And because of that, I think everyones success or failure solely reflects their efforts, thus my 97.15 reflects one hell of an effort.

Spending 4 days with the most important people in my life. I could not ask for a more amazing Schoolies experience.

1. Cooking 15 packets of easy mac at one time

2. Waking up way too early then having way too much time on our hands for our own good

3. Getting way too serious about monopoly

4. Listening to Lmfao all day..... everyday

5. Not wearing shoes in public places

6. Playing tips in Erina Fair

7. Making the same joke to Eren, that we are going to Erena Fair

Freedom

The HSC is over. I have honestly been fearing the HSC since I was in year 5, and now that it's over I feel so free. But this new found freedom comes with a sense of loss. :( No more Highschool. No more uniforms. No more running away from teachers because you aren't actually wearing the proper uniform. No more living life according to monotonous bell rings. No more asking to pee. No more overpriced sushi. No more watching students flirt with teachers (actually this could potentially happen in university).No more oppression. No more spending all day with my favourite people.

The entire year 12 grade is or was alarmingly close. Every individual is so lovely and kind (and absurdly well dressed).

I am so grateful that I have met such amazing people They have influenced me to become a better me. More driven, more enthusiastic, more selfless and more loving. (warning:Getting a little sentimental). The memories of Highschool will always be with me, and in 20 years time I will look back on these moments as the best time of my life. Oh yeah.

I finally handed in my major work today. After months of having thread and pins scattered in every room of the house i am so happy to no longer wake up on the kitchen floor caressing my a3 paper blanket. I don't think you could imagine the amount of thread that i come across on a day to day basis, and I'm not going to lie, one time i found some in my underpants. Eh.

So after two long nights of energy drinks, no-doz and homemade video clips I finally finished my portfolio.

Here is some deep paragraph I wrote. Eh it is basically my soul. Design is something i wish to pursue so yea. bam.

Motivation for ideas:

After investigating the reasons behind the growing trend of op shopping, thought to be because of the financial recession, it was discovered that some consumers no longer want to conform to mainstream fashion, but are slowly beginning to uncover the possibilities of alternative style. This emerging market motivated the idea of “untied”. Furthermore, societies growing addiction with self-image is affecting women mentally, physically and socially all around the world. The opportunity to let women self-express through fashion regardless of their socio-economic status was my motivation.

One teaspoon.

So not only does the name of this amazing dress remind me of the dementors in Harry Potter, but I am head over heels in love (excuse the tacky cliche). So I fell in love with this dress last year, I tried it on, and was like JIZZ JIZZ JIZZ. Then a couple weeks later it sold out. BAM. Life is destroyed.

BUT I JUST FOUND IT ONLINE. Cyber JIZZ JIZZ JIZZ!!

So in the couple weeks I have been hibernating, here is "what's new" in order of priority.

1. A dog ran into the school. I chased after it for a while

2. Got myself one fine looking boyfriend. :)

3. I got out of detention by playing the "I had to use the year 7 toilets because period was trickling down my leg" card, and making the male teacher feel uber uncomfortable.

4. Finally got my Varsity jacket. Oh yeah.

5. Realised that babey apparently doesn't have an e.

Attempted to cut a front fringe, got up to cutting a strand, then chickened out. Now I look like Elvis.

6. Organised a "Wear your school jumper backwards day" at school.

Harry Potter actually makes my day.

Half yearlies are over, but trials are creeping closer and closer. Damn you trials.

My life since my last post has been pretty ordinary. Met some lovely new people whom are lovely, finally booked schoolies, and am driving to get my hours up. 10 more days and i am 17.

I don't think anyone can comprehend how long i have waited to turn 17. (durhhh 17 years brah) but it is more of an emotional waiting. (HSC is making you crazy you crazy south american)

So i have not kept to the daily posting, what are you going to do about it. Poke me on facebok? yeah that's right you can't cause i deactivated it. oh yeah. In all honesty, my lack of fb stalking has resulted in countless instagram posts, followed by the deletion of those posts, cause i don't want people to think i am addicted and have no real life.

In the last three days i have:

1. Cleaned my room once more

2. Done some homework

3. Gone to my work meeting at gloria Jeans (was asked back by boss for the holidays) even though I haven't worked in a very long time, I got free curry pizza. Don't be jealous.

4. Been a ruthless/hardcore/sick bastard after I got stung by a bee and didn't even react like a crazy child. If you are unaware I am shit scared of all kinds of insects. Here goes my anecdote: So some bee decides to sneak into my sock and it's all, "hey foot, come at me", then my foots all like "Black and yellow, Black and yellow" then it proceeded to sting me with its arse. But you know it died so, i got my revenge.

5. Went to my hot friends 18th.

6. My grandma gave me a night gown, personally i think it is a snuggie. I have worn it out 3 times in public already

7. Bought my first maxi skirt. $2 from vinnies sale

8. Went to my friends surprise 17th.

9. Decided to skip easter cause easter eggs are gross.

wow. i have been pretty fun these last couple of day. Guess the forthcoming term will esh my head up so I guess granting myself some freedom isn't the worst thing.

My lack of math ability is a serious disadvantage, and i am going to have to claim defeat to all those years of bickering from maths teachers saying that it is actually applicable in life. Holy shit. Took me a solid hour of long thinking to determine the circumference, radius, diameter and width of each pleat for my skirt. But i did it. The pattern is finally done!

Life after exam week is good.

I am currently obsessed with mustard. And when I say obsessed, I mean the kind of obsessed that could put someone away for a very long time...

So this obsession started when I wanted to buy a simple mustard dress, just plain jane. Something comfortable and boring. But couldn't find anything anywhere. I found dresses the colour of shit, I found dresses that looked like shit, and I found dresses that smelt like shit. But no mustard :(

Then it came to me (like that one time an apple fell on some Newton kids head) i imagine my epiphany was much more dramatic. I was all like, let's put my new JANOME OVERLOCKER 744D into good use and make me some mustard coloured shit. So I did.

So there I was just sitting on the living room floor trying to understand the works of "pattern making", sipping on my Peach ice tea ( i inhale peach Ice tea like coffee) and getting stabbed countless times by pins. AHHH. And after 7 episodes of "How i met your mother" a little fb stalking and pointless dancing.

So I am doing three units of Spanish for my HSC, therefore I am reasonably concerned that my Spanish skills aren't exactly up to scratch. So I skipped school yesterday... That's right, I'm hardcore like that. No, not really, the worst thing Iv'e probably ever done in my life is make a Latte on skim rather than on full cream milk, hells yeah, might as well go get a tattoo saying "I"M A BAD ASS" (cause bad people don't realise ass is spelt arse).

ANYWHO.

So I had spanish school all day yesterday and it wasn't too bad, although the shame of being Argentinean and not being able to speak like a native kind of kills me.

Yesterday was so moderately eventful.

1. i read the newspaper on the train

2. I dropped my pink highlighter lid and couldn't be bothered to bend at the knees, so I sacrificed my green highlighter. RIP green highlighter

In my household we partake in christmas festivities on christmas eve.

When i think back to all those amazing times. i seriously wonder what the real world has to offer, whats beyond the boundaries of a year 12 student. I guess time will tell...

Christmas is just around the corner guys, no like seriously, if time had a corner next saturday would be it. I am kind off sad there have been no fun parties this year, i guess year 12 has just hit everyone incredibly hard on the head. damn.

well last year my darling friend Zoe Donovan (whose mums oddly obsessed with owls), had a dandy gathering. We spun and ate fairy floss (do try it), played passes with a ball for a little bit until it got boring, jumped into the pool at night time, and took too many photos.

Just to give you the low down, at my school parties, we basically take photos for 10 hours. Every awkward thrust, nose pick or undie flash is documented, within 2 hours max of the event happening, you WILL BE TAGGED ON FB.

As you can see i went as a present :)

I had my doubts about this one, but after seeing them live last night at the metro, i am forever loyal to their sound.

I somehow want to incorporate clean modern design, into a nature filled environment. Somewhere we people can go to express themselves artistically and creatively. Somewhere where people will be inspired by both technology, and nature. A place of complete pilgrimage.

So, i would like to introduce you all to a very special small person.

She is amazing.

She is adorable.

Cute.

and sometimes makes hissing noises.

Her name is Mikayla!

She, is my niece.

So my sister, her fiancée, son, daughter, 2 cats and dog, is living with us for a while until she gets her house sorted out. Its like Hawthorne Heights jamming in my hallway.....24/7.

Although I am heaps lucky to have a beautiful Niece and Nephew, I also love my quiet Jessica Time <3

With a crazy household, i decided to make the most of my situation. and EXPLOIT THE CHILDREN.

Child labour = Making "cleaning Jessica's room" a game.

Child labour = Answering telemarketers.

Child labour= Catering to my stomach.

So the children are pretty useful. not to mention ADORABLE. They have some pretty odd habits which arn't all bad. Mikayla has an fascination with answering the phone. Pretty handy since i refuse to answer the home number. Clearly it is not for me, I have a mobile.

So yesterday, i was just loving life at home. Went to the toilet to do, you know, toilet stuff. And there was no toilet paper. What do i do? Ring the home phone. Tell Miki to bring some toilet paper from the other toilet. AND BAM! Problem solved.

My nephew on the other hand just chills in Tutus and attempts leg mounts. I think he wants to be a ballerina.

I have regular photo shoots with them. She has the cutest poses. I say Beyonce and she does the single ladies dance. I say Lady gaga. and she VOGUES!

The flower embroidery was quite tedious, but once i got the hang of it, it was in a way, relaxing. Yup. i lie. It took forever. But it was worth it :)

I think i shall post some better shots of this dress. These hardly do it justice. PHOTOSHOOT EVERYBODY!

My name is Jess Guzman. Im 16 (wishing i was 17). I like the colour black, but not in the emo sense. I'm from Argentina and i speak moderately fluent spanish. I like things i'm not good at. My grammar, punctuation and spelling is atrocious. I like to dance. I play the violin. My room is painted pink, i wish it wasn't. I like to draw. I like computers. I love making awkward silences extra awkward. I can not keep secrets. I like knowing things that others don't, then telling them to reiterate the point that they didn't know. I love my iphone. I love inhaling too much ventolin (asthmatic) so my hands start to shake. I'm a horrible organiser. I always make mistakes. Being grossed out by period. Once i didn't pick up my dirty clothes from the floor for a week, i witnessed a cockroach emerging amidst the pile not too long after. I use ; because i think it looks cooler than : I love fake laughing, because its clearly more fun than not. I would love to one day me a designer, whether its fashion, communication or graphic. I love being a wierdo sometimes. I have too many out of body experiences. I am obsessed with gossip girl and have my own "gossip update". I bought a hip top phone and pretended to be blair. Sometimes my eye twitches way too often, i get a little freaked out. I am intimidated by nearly everyone around me, but i try not to be. I am in love with half-casts. I hate it when girls have to make the first move. Giving birth to tampons. I secretly tried the moves from karate kid in the mirror.

Thats about it. You officially know everything there is to know about me. Well at least for now :) I shall be posting anything i like; from photographs, poems, jewellery, outfits, songs.

And I'm off bed.
